PROGRAMME PURPOSE

Audit laboratory competence through technical evidence.

A laboratory-focused internal auditor programme built around the way testing and calibration activities are actually performed. Participants examine how competence, impartiality, facilities, equipment, methods, technical records and validity of results are controlled and evidenced.

PROGRAMME CONTENT

Core audit areas.

The programme concentrates on the requirements, processes and evidence that matter to this specific discipline.

03

Laboratory Auditors

Auditors who need to evaluate technical and management-system requirements.

04

Testing & Calibration Personnel

Personnel who need a practical understanding of internal audit expectations in laboratory environments.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

What participants practise.

The training moves from requirements into audit situations so participants practise following evidence, asking relevant questions and developing defensible findings.

01 Trace laboratory activities from request to result
02 Evaluate personnel competence evidence
03 Review equipment and traceability records
04 Examine technical records and method evidence
05 Evaluate evidence supporting result validity
06 Develop laboratory-specific audit findings
STANDARD & AUDIT APPROACH

The subject standard remains the centre of the audit.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is the current published standard for competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This programme focuses on internal auditing of laboratory requirements and technical activities. General management-system audit principles may be supported by ISO 19011:2026 where applicable.

Plan Prepare Audit Evaluate Report Follow up
ASSESSMENT & COMPLETION

Application of the audit process.

Assessment activities use laboratory scenarios, document and record review, evidence evaluation, interview exercises, finding development and audit reporting. Participants who satisfy the programme completion requirements receive a certificate of completion.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Programme questions.

01   Who should attend?

The programme is suited to laboratory quality personnel, technical managers, laboratory auditors and personnel involved in testing or calibration activities.
